Objectives

By implementing the project "We Understand Each Other !" we want to achieve the comprehensive development of young people from geographically disadvantaged areas of Slovakia (Prešov Region) and Poland (Tomaszów Lubelski Region). These regions have limited access to international experience and non-formal education, therefore the project is designed to provide participants with practical skills, support their personal growth and strengthen intercultural understanding in line with the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme. The objectives have been revised to be specific, measurable, relevant and time-bound (SMART). Our main objectives from the perspective of youth work practice are: 1. Increase digital skills and media literacy in at least 80% of participants by the end of the main activity (August 26, 2026). ◦ Youth work practice: We want participants to acquire practical digital skills necessary for the current job market. Through workshops led by an experienced trainer, they will learn to use tools such as Canva to create a bilingual comic, a digital photo book and videos for YouTube. Outputs with objectives, these creative outputs will directly serve as a platform for intercultural dialogue, where young people process their experiences, stereotypes and shared stories. 2. Deepen intercultural understanding and break down stereotypes in at least 90% of participants by August 26, 2026. ◦ Youth work practice: Our key objective is to overcome barriers and prejudices between young Slovaks and Poles. We will use non-formal education methods such as theme evenings, discussions on stereotypes, urban games and joint creative activities. These activities will allow young people to get to know the culture, traditions and values of the partner country and perceive cultural differences as an enriching element. We will measure the change in attitudes through reflections in YouthPass. 3. Develop key competences and soft skills in 100% of participants, as confirmed by completing the YouthPass certificate by 26 August 2026. ◦ Youth work experience: The project will support the development of competences such as communication, teamwork, critical thinking, problem solving and creativity. All activities are designed to take place in international teams. Participants will naturally acquire these skills while jointly creating project outputs, solving tasks and during daily reflections and discussions. The Erasmus+ programme and the YouthPass tool will be introduced at the beginning of the project and certificates will be handed over at the end. 4. Support active participation and initiative in 100% of young people throughout the project. ◦ Youth work experience: Young people will not only be passive recipients, but active co-creators of the project. They will be involved in planning and leading evening cultural activities, facilitating reflection sessions and managing the project's social networks. This will build responsibility, initiative and the ability to collaborate. By implementing these goals, we want to show young people the possibilities of non-formal education and international cooperation and motivate them to participate in other projects. At the same time, the publicly available outputs will make the importance of youth work visible and inspire other organizations
