The main objective of the project is to reduce the stigma associated with burnout among youth workers and to raise awareness that, despite their commitment and “superpowers” to support vulnerable youth, they are primarily people who need tools, strategies and support to maintain their own well-being and resilience. The project targets youth workers, social workers, trainers and youth coordinators and provides them with comprehensive training developing knowledge about mental health, identifying early signs of anxiety and practical strategies to strengthen psychological resilience against burnout. The project also aims to equip participants with tools to support their own mental health through a combination of non-formal education, resilience techniques and art therapy, while strengthening their capacities so that they can effectively apply these competences in their work with youth. By linking youth work practice, art therapy and non-formal education, the quality of youth work is enhanced, the ability to address challenges related to young people’s mental health is improved and a holistic approach to youth work is supported. The project is based on the 5P methodology, which focuses on five key areas: connecting body, mind and spirit; strengthening resilience; supporting mental health through art therapy; preventing burnout; and therapeutic support including meditation and mindfulness techniques for overall mental well-being. The implementation of this methodology will enable participants to gain practical skills that will improve their own mental health, support resilience and increase the quality of youth work. Project Objectives: Supporting the mental health of youth workers To provide youth workers with tools to prevent burnout, strategies to maintain their own positive mental health and develop resilience so that they can work effectively with young people while taking care of their own well-being. Implementation of the 5P methodology in youth work To teach participants to appropriately apply the 5P methodology in developing mental health and preventing burnout in work with young people at the level of maintaining their own mental health, but also towards supporting the well-being of the young people they work with. Building competencies for quality youth work To develop the capacities of youth workers so that they can effectively apply the acquired skills in supporting their own mental health and the mental health of young people through a combination of informal education, resilience techniques, using NFV tools, art therapy techniques and the basics of the 5P methodology. Connecting methodologies for a holistic approach to youth work To strengthen participants' abilities to combine art therapy and informal education focused on mental health, thereby increasing the quality of youth work and the ability to solve challenges related to the mental health of young people. Strengthening resilience and well-being through art therapy and mindfulness techniques To enable participants to adopt creative and therapeutic techniques for managing stress, emotional processing of feelings and promoting inner safety, which will directly impact their long-term resilience and effectiveness in working with youth.
