Project Resilient Leadership: From Hierarchy to Co-Creation aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to create sustainable, inclusive, and hopeful responses to today’s overlapping crises. The project creates spaces where youth workers can use collective intelligence to co-design meaningful and innovative pathways forward. Instead of relying on hierarchical models, where one person is expected to provide all the answers, we cultivate participatory leadership, valuing each individual’s skills, perspectives, and creativity. In this way, crises become opportunities for growth, and uncertainty becomes a driver of collective innovation. To achieve this, the project combines three complementary methodologies: 1. Permaculture as the design backbone – equipping youth workers with principles such as Earth Care, People Care, and Fair Share, and practical tools (resource mapping, micro-interventions, soil and water practices) to design projects as resilient living systems. This fosters green skills, reduces burnout, and helps youth initiatives thrive even with limited resources. 2. Art as catalyst and communication tool – using theatre, contact improvisation, land art, and storytelling to process challenges, release tension, and strengthen empathy. Artistic methods enable youth workers to design inclusive workshops, engage diverse groups, and communicate sustainability in ways that are both accessible and inspiring. 3.Non-hierarchical leadership – introducing co-operative approaches such as Dragon Dreaming, The Way of Council and The Art for Social Renewal to replace hierarchy with co-creation and shared responsibility. Youth workers practice rotating roles (apprentice system), consent-based decision-making, and reflective feedback, while learning to make decisions through dialogue and consent. These experiences strengthen competences in coordination, communication, inclusion and project management To reach the aims of this project, we set up 4 objectives : 1. Equip participants with permaculture philosophy and design principles, 2. Engage participants in artistic approaches and practices, 3.Strengthen participants’ competences to become sustainable and resilient leaders, 4. Co-create with participants a public performance at the local festival Atmosféra 2027, The project unfolds across two mobilities and one year of practice, allowing participants to integrate new competences into their local contexts, exchange experiences, and culminate by co-creating a public performance at the Atmosféra Festival. This final event will showcase permaculture philosophy through art and theatre, making the project’s outcomes visible and impactful for the public and strengthening youth work practice across Europe.
