Objectives

AI Journalism Lab (AI101) is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project designed to equip young people with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes they need to adapt to a rapidly changing world shaped by media and artificial intelligence (AI). The core aim of the project is to enhance participants’ media literacy capacities, enable them to use AI-based tools responsibly in journalism and content creation, and strengthen their social competences through intercultural learning. 1. Objectives • Media and Digital Literacy: To equip young people with practical skills in news writing, interviewing, fact-checking, infographic design, and podcast production. • Use of AI Tools: To introduce participants to AI-based tools for news production, content analysis, and visual design, and ensure they can apply them confidently and ethically. • Intercultural Learning: To foster collaboration and mutual understanding between young people from Türkiye and North Macedonia, enabling them to develop cooperation and solidarity skills. • Youth Participation: To raise awareness of active citizenship and empower young people to become more engaged in societal issues through media. • Inclusion: To guarantee equal opportunities by ensuring the full participation of young people with fewer opportunities, thereby strengthening inclusiveness. 2. Contribution to Youth Work Practice • Hands-on Training Model: The project goes beyond theory by offering practical workshops where young people will produce tangible outputs. This approach will serve as an innovative example of experiential learning in youth work. • Mentoring and Peer Learning: Participants will work in small groups, learning from each other and fostering solidarity. This setup highlights peer-to-peer learning as a key youth work method. • Youthpass and Reflection: Through Youthpass, participants will reflect on their learning outcomes and document their personal growth. This ensures they take ownership of their development process. • Dissemination and Participation: After the project, participants will share their experiences with their peers and communities, creating a multiplier effect and broadening the reach of Erasmus+. 3. Expected Impact As a result of this project, young people will be able to: • Critically evaluate media content, • Use AI tools consciously, responsibly, and ethically, • Strengthen intercultural communication and cooperation skills, • Become more aware and active in the fields of citizenship and democratic participation. AI Journalism Lab (AI101) seeks to enhance young people’s competences in media and AI, provide rich intercultural learning opportunities, and bring an innovative, practice-oriented perspective to youth work. The project will not only support participants’ personal growth but will also contribute to the development of more conscious, inclusive, and active young citizens at the societal level.
