Inclusion of marginalised young peopleDemocracy and inclusive democratic participationDigital skills and competences

Objectives

Our focus is on inclusive access for the “homebody youth” profile (young people with weak ties to public spaces and peer groups, and high barriers to participation), establishing safe learning environments, strengthening young people's expression/participation skills, and creating lasting impact through sustainable mini-actions at the local level. The partnership (Society-Der – TR/coord., SİYAMDER – TR, AITEC – GR, AIG – RO, AskForChange – CZ) aims to achieve these goals by building bridges with each country's youth ecosystem. 1) Our goal is to reach young people who are left behind due to the “failure to take the first step,” social anxiety, economic/geographical barriers, and cultural barriers that are frequently encountered in youth work practice. With this project, we aim to create a safe and inclusive learning environment where everyone can participate, featuring trust-building, trigger content alerts, clear behavioral rules, quiet rooms, and flexible pacing. For youth leaders, field-applicable well-being–accessibility routines (break architecture, simple language/pictograms, peer-buddy) will become permanent practices. 2) We will systematically use common learning methods (forum theater, photovoice, world café, project canvas) to help “home youth” become visible, regulate their emotions, and take small risks to step into social life. Young people will develop basic life skills such as communication, collaboration, problem solving, emotion regulation, and trial and error in error-free environments through experience; they will be able to name and document these learnings with Youthpass. 3) Digital production in the field of youth work often remains instrumental. We integrate micro-video and e-portfolio production for the purpose of “participation and visibility.” Young people will create 60-second inclusive message videos and personal e-portfolio pages; they will gain ethical awareness regarding copyright/consent, data protection, subtitling, and accessible content production. These outputs will serve as concrete evidence in young people's education/job applications and will be a source of inspiration for their peers and local stakeholders. 4) To make the impact of youth work lasting, learning must be transferred to the field. To this end, each mixed team will design a mini social action that is applicable in their own locality (e.g., safe route walk, library day, digital literacy workshop). Supported by the project canvas and risk matrix, these actions will be implemented in collaboration with municipal youth units, schools/libraries, and NGOs; young people will gain experience in talking with stakeholders and micro-advocacy. 5) The project will serve not only the professional development of participating young people but also that of youth workers. Facilitators will acquire field-applicable toolkits (checklists, templates, sample flows) on accessible communication, the basic principles of psychosocial first aid, intercultural methods, and digital ethics; partners will transform these toolkits into standard internal practices. Thus, the methods will continue to live on in the institutional memory even after the project ends. 6) A sense of recognition is critical for young people to continue participating. Youthpass processes will be supported by daily reflection blocks and peer rubrics, enabling participants to link their learning to concrete evidence. At the closing event, products will be made available to the public through an open exhibition/showcase; young people will share their stories in their own voices. G30–G60–G90 online follow-up sessions will facilitate the implementation of mini-actions, the updating of e-portfolios, and the creation of bridges to new opportunities locally. 7) The project outputs (Toolkit, templates, short videos) will be published permanently under an open license; they will be shared on partners' websites and European-level platforms (e.g., SALTO communities) to encourage reuse. A light alumni/practitioner network will be established under the “EV2ACT” label, organizing annual online sharing sessions; thus, the methods will be adapted to different contexts. 8) We will monitor the project in a multifaceted way through baseline–final surveys, daily mini reflections, peer reviews, and evidence of work. Our goal is to achieve a meaningful increase in participants' self-efficacy, social participation intention, and confidence in digital expression, as well as for each country group to complete at least one local mini-action. The collected data will be transformed into Lessons & Recommendations notes for youth workers and stakeholders under the heading “what worked/where did we struggle.” In youth work practice, reaching “homebound youth” often remains at the level of intention. This project establishes an end-to-end path from access to safe spaces, from skill acquisition to community-based micro-action, and from recognition to sustainability.
