Objectives

Our project has been designed as a youth exchange which tackles some of the most urgent challenges of today’s young generation, such as digital dependency, social isolation, individualisation and the decreasing interest in artistic and creative practices. The main achievement we aim for is to create a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment where young people from different countries can experience the transformative role of art, creativity and collective action as alternatives to excessive screen time and passive digital culture. From the perspective of youth work practice, the first objective is to empower young people to reconnect with their peers through creative, non-formal methods. By offering workshops such as totebag design, bracelet making, ceramic painting and candle production, the project will allow participants to discover the joy of handcrafts and creative expression. This approach is expected to improve their problem-solving, cooperation, fine motor and communication skills while providing a tangible alternative to individualised and digitalised leisure activities. Secondly, the project seeks to foster active participation, teamwork and solidarity among young people. Activities such as group dynamics exercises, reflection groups and especially the flashmob event in a public space will push participants to collaborate, take responsibility and express themselves confidently in front of others. The camp setting, where participants will spend one night in tents, will further enhance their ability to cooperate, adapt to new circumstances and strengthen group bonds in an environment that encourages trust and openness. Another core objective is to equip young people with intercultural competences and raise their awareness on cultural diversity. Even though the main thematic focus is not on food or historical narratives, cultural nights and creative sessions will allow participants to represent their own identities, traditions and artistic practices while learning from their peers. This exchange of perspectives will strengthen tolerance, mutual respect and cultural dialogue, all of which are central values in youth work and in line with European Youth Goals. A further aim of the project is to increase resilience and well-being by addressing mental and emotional safety. Through non-formal learning methods, participants will be encouraged to express their emotions, reflect on their experiences and create a supportive peer atmosphere. The project team and group leaders will ensure that safeguarding principles, data protection (GDPR) rules and inclusive practices are respected so that each participant feels secure and valued throughout the mobility. From the angle of youth work, the project is also expected to develop key competences that are essential for personal and professional growth. These include creativity and entrepreneurship (through designing and presenting self-made products), digital competences (through responsible use of social media for dissemination), civic competences (through local visits and interactions with decision-makers) and social competences (through teamwork, communication and conflict resolution exercises). All these competences will be validated through Youthpass, ensuring that participants can recognise and articulate their learning outcomes. In addition, the project aims to encourage youth-led dissemination and sustainability practices. Participants will be directly involved in social media campaigns, blogging, local peer-sharing sessions and post-project events, which will not only increase their sense of ownership but also expand the impact of the project beyond the mobility. By assigning them concrete dissemination responsibilities and integrating them into the follow-up phase, the project will contribute to a stronger youth participation culture both locally and internationally. Finally, the long-term achievement of the project is to support young people in becoming active citizens who can critically reflect on the challenges of the digital era, while appreciating the role of creativity and cooperation in building healthier communities. In this sense, the project does not end with the mobility but aims to leave behind stronger networks, innovative practices in youth work and more resilient, connected and empowered young people.
