“GreenRoots: Young Voices for the Planet Hope” aims to empower young people to become active actors in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable lifestyles. In line with the priorities of the Erasmus+ Programme 2021–2027, the project focuses on environment and climate action, inclusion, digitalisation, and the participation of young people in democratic life. The project will enable participants to improve their ecological literacy, better understand the causes and consequences of climate change, and adopt sustainable habits in their daily lives. At the same time, they will enhance key competences such as teamwork, problem-solving, creative thinking, and intercultural communication, which will strengthen their role as young leaders within their local communities. The central output of the project will be the preparation of a joint “Green Youth Manifesto.” This document will reflect the common voice of young people on environmental challenges and solutions. It will be shared in youth centres, schools, and NGOs at the local level, and disseminated digitally at national and European levels, ensuring the project’s impact reaches beyond direct participants. From a youth work perspective, the project is based on non-formal education methods. Activities will include experiential learning, creative workshops, digital storytelling, STEM-based practices, group discussions, outdoor learning, and intercultural dialogue. These methods embody the inclusive, participatory, and learner-centered approach recommended in the Erasmus Youth Quality Standards. The project objectives are as follows: To raise young people’s awareness of environmental challenges and increase their knowledge about climate change. To help participants acquire and practice sustainable lifestyle competences. To strengthen intercultural understanding and reinforce European values through collaborative learning. To support young people’s democratic participation and make their voices visible in the field of environmental policy. To ensure recognition of competences gained through Youthpass certification. To encourage young people to initiate local environmental actions in their own communities after the project. In conclusion, this project seeks not only to increase the knowledge and skills of the participants, but also to empower them as active agents of change in society. The “Green Youth Manifesto” will serve as a visible outcome of their collective voice, inspiring young people and stakeholders at local, national, and European levels. Through this, the project will contribute to both individual development and wider social transformation
