The Bridge4EU Values project aims to provide 40 young people at partner universities in Turkey, Poland and Romania with information about the fundamental values of the EU and to raise awareness through non-formal learning methods. Focusing on EU fundamental values, this project aims to provide young people with a short-term mobility experience, foster cultural integration, and enable them to develop skills, values, and attitudes that they can use throughout their lives. From a youth work perspective, the project's main starting point is for young people to integrate EU fundamental values into their lives, strengthen their social participation, and contribute to building a common European youth culture by establishing intercultural links. One of the project's main objectives is to strengthen intercultural dialogue and mutual understanding among young people from different cultural backgrounds. In this regard, the official opening ceremony, icebreaker games and networking events on the first day will enable participants to get to know each other in a safe environment. This will be followed by a session explaining the project's objectives and the fundamental values of the EU, which will help raise young people's awareness of democratic participation, human rights and inclusiveness. By watching and discussing films selected from the EU Human Rights Short Film Competition, participants will have the opportunity to critically evaluate the concepts of human dignity, equality and freedom. Cross-cultural get-togethers and country nights organised in the evenings will enable young people to introduce their own cultures, discover other cultures and see diversity as a source of richness. The project also aims to make significant contributions to the personal development of young people. Case studies and role-playing exercises on the theme of ‘Human Dignity’ will help participants develop their problem-solving, empathy, creativity and teamwork skills. Group discussions, brainstorming sessions, and poster preparation activities on the theme of ‘Human Dignity’ will strengthen their collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills, and they will experience collaborative production through the tangible products that emerge. These activities will boost young people's self-confidence and encourage them to take on leadership and responsibility. Documenting learning outcomes through the Youthpass certificate will ensure that these achievements are visible in future education and job applications. Another objective of the project is to implement the principles of social inclusion and equal opportunities. Including young people who face difficulties accessing international projects due to economic and geographical barriers will contribute to their social integration processes. These young people will have the opportunity to express themselves in an international environment and develop solidarity with their peers; thus, they will strengthen their sense of social responsibility and take on more active roles in their communities. The project also aims to promote interregional cooperation and international solidarity. Young people from Turkey, Poland and Romania will discover their shared historical ties and cultural heritage, experiencing the importance of cross-border cooperation for social development and developing a common perspective on EU values. Through joint group work, discussions and cultural exchange activities, participants will not only be learners but also producers. This experience will be a strong source of motivation for young people to develop their own projects in the future and participate more actively in the Erasmus+ programme. Another objective of the project is to develop young people's democratic participation and active citizenship awareness. Throughout the activities, participants will not merely be observers but will also be individuals involved in decision-making processes. They will express their own ideas during case studies, role-playing scenarios, and group discussions, contributing to joint decision-making processes. In this way, young people will experience the functioning of democratic processes and learn the importance of participation and representation through experience. Common learning methods such as icebreaker games, case studies, scenario role-plays, cultural evenings, creative drama, storytelling, Canva poster creation, and short film discussions will be actively used throughout the learning process. These methods will enable young people to learn through experience and practice. Learning will not be limited to theoretical knowledge; it will become a holistic experience with social, emotional, and cultural dimensions. In line with all these objectives, the project is seen as a comprehensive project that strengthens intercultural understanding and tolerance, increases young people's self-confidence, leadership, and responsibility skills, supports inclusion and cooperation.
