Objectives

Our project is designed to enable young people to recognize intangible cultural heritage, actively participate in the activities of preserving and sharing these heritages, and contribute to a sense of European citizenship by strengthening civil participation. The primary reason we want to implement our project is to increase young people's awareness of intangible cultural heritage, creating a positive trend in society on this issue and preventing the extinction of these heritages. As the most dynamic and innovative segment of society, young people have a critical role in the preservation and transmission of intangible cultural heritage to future generations. The objectives and goals we aim to achieve through the practice of youth work by implementing our project are to enhance young people's personal, social, and professional capacities, providing opportunities to develop their knowledge, skills, and competencies. In this context, young people will have the opportunity to improve themselves by participating in various trainings, workshops, and experience-sharing events. During this process, it is aimed to impart skills such as leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and critical thinking. Additionally, it is intended to increase their knowledge of different cultures and cultural tolerance. In this way, young people will become more tolerant and inclusive individuals by understanding cultural diversity and differences. The cultural activities to be carried out within the scope of the project will provide opportunities for intercultural dialogue and interaction, increasing young people's cultural awareness. Our project is designed to encourage young people to take a more active role in social and community life. During the project process, it is aimed to develop young people's active citizenship awareness. After our project, young people will strive to find solutions to social problems with the gains they have achieved. Another goal of our project is to strengthen the social capital and networks of young people. Throughout the project, young people will meet new people, collaborate, and establish new connections. This will allow them to expand their social circles and take a more active role in different areas. Accordingly, the goals of the project include introducing young people to intangible cultural heritage and encouraging the preservation of these heritages, promoting intercultural dialogue and cooperation among young people, increasing young people's awareness of active citizenship, and developing their social networks to establish a network. Our project will take place in Ağrı, Turkey. Ağrı has been chosen for our project due to its rich cultural diversity and being a culturally rich city with people from many cultures. Our project aims to increase young people's awareness of intangible cultural heritage by leveraging Ağrı's rich cultural fabric and contribute to the preservation of these heritages. At the end of the project, young people will become more conscious and active citizens in society with the knowledge and skills they have gained. Embracing the values of tolerance and inclusivity through intercultural dialogue and interaction, they will lead positive changes at both local and international levels. Additionally, with the social networks they have established and the collaborations they have developed, they will be able to take more effective roles in future projects. Thus, our project will contribute not only to the preservation of intangible cultural heritage in Ağrı but also to the empowerment of young people over a wider geography. The successful implementation of our project will significantly contribute to strengthening the sense of European citizenship by providing young people with more opportunities and support in education, training, and youth work, in line with the goals of the Erasmus+ program
