Objectives

The Conscious Green Youth (CGY) project aims to promote environmental awareness and a culture of sustainability among young people, to encourage recycling habits, and to strengthen intercultural interaction between youth in Eastern Anatolia and the Balkans. Through non-formal learning methods, participants will gain knowledge and skills on environmental and climate issues, develop a sense of social responsibility, and become pioneers of eco-friendly initiatives in their communities. At the same time, young people from different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds will come together to learn how to cooperate in diversity, thereby reinforcing solidarity and active citizenship values. The project particularly supports the participation of young people with fewer opportunities, helping them to increase their awareness on environmental issues, actively engage in intercultural dialogue processes, and become role models in their communities. Thus, disadvantaged young people will not only achieve personal development but also have the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that create social impact. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project aims to support young people’s personal and social development by equipping them with leadership, communication, teamwork and intercultural dialogue competences. In addition, it seeks to raise young people’s interest in and participation in Erasmus+ projects, encouraging them to take more active roles in international youth work in the future. Thanks to its non-formal learning methods and intercultural approach, the project will establish a long-term network of cooperation and sustainable environmental awareness among young people in Eastern Anatolia and the Balkans. The project results will be disseminated through local events, seminars, media coverage and social media campaigns, ensuring that the impact goes beyond the participants and partner organisations, and continues to reach local, regional and international levels.
