The fundamental objectives and goals to be achieved through the implementation of the “Climate Ambassadors” project are multifaceted from the perspective of youth work. The main purpose of the project is to raise environmental awareness among young people, equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to combat climate change, and turn them into active “change ambassadors” on sustainability issues. In this regard, the project's objectives can be summarized as follows: Developing Young People's Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes Increasing Environmental Awareness: The most fundamental objective of the project is to increase awareness of environmental sustainability among young people. Participants will gain in-depth knowledge on topics such as climate change, sustainable living practices, waste management, biodiversity conservation, and carbon footprint through expert training and interactive workshops. Encouraging Concrete Action: The project aims to ensure that young people not only acquire theoretical knowledge but also translate this knowledge into concrete actions. They will be encouraged to develop concrete action plans to combat climate change. This may include initiating micro-actions such as recycling campaigns or tree planting events in local communities. Developing Active Citizenship and Leadership: The aim is to empower young people to become environmentally conscious leaders by strengthening their sense of active citizenship. The project will encourage young people to create positive impacts in their communities by participating in social responsibility projects and developing solutions to local problems. Through activities such as the UN Climate Crisis simulation, they will develop their leadership skills by experiencing policy-making processes. Acquiring Core Competencies: From a youth work perspective, the project aims to equip participants with core competencies that they can use throughout their lives. These competencies include problem solving, leadership, teamwork, creative thinking, crisis management, and project management. In addition, digital literacy skills will be developed to enable young people to create environmentally friendly campaigns. Creating an Environment for Intercultural Learning and Cooperation Supporting Intercultural Dialogue: The project aims to encourage intercultural learning and dialogue by bringing together young people from different countries (Turkey, Spain, Macedonia, and Bulgaria). Events such as cultural evenings will enable participants to learn about each other's cultures and develop empathy and tolerance. Developing Joint Solutions: The aim is for young people to bring together different perspectives and develop joint solutions to the global problem of the climate crisis. This international cooperation environment will also enable young people to build a strong network for future projects. Creating Social and Institutional Impact Increasing Sustainability: The project aims to contribute to increasing environmental sustainability at the local, national, and international levels by enabling young people to take a more active role in environmental issues. Strengthening Institutional Capacity: The partner organizations implementing the project will increase their institutional capacity in areas such as project management, resource management, reporting, and innovative training methods. This will be an important experience for future projects. Ultimately, the project offers a holistic learning environment that aims not only to inform young people but also to nurture them as active, responsible, leading, and collaborative individuals in the fight against the climate crisis.
