Environment and climate changeBridging intercultural, intergenerational and social divide

Objectives

The primary objective of this project is to enable young people to develop knowledge, skills and attitudes regarding sustainable agricultural practices and environmental awareness; to transform them into active environmental volunteers and youth ambassadors who can spearhead social change. The project aims not only to contribute to the individual development of young people, but also to promote environmentally conscious behaviour at a societal level through their involvement. Within the scope of the project, the areas of development for young people will be shaped around the following topics: Sustainable Agriculture Knowledge and Application Skills: Young people will be taught contemporary and nature-friendly farming methods, such as the importance of climate change and agricultural production, organic farming, water and soil management; they will be given the opportunity to experience the applicability of this knowledge at a local level. This will enable young people to combine theoretical knowledge with practical application. Environmental Awareness and Ecological Responsibility: The aim is for young people to develop environmentally friendly production and consumption habits and to gain awareness of issues related to preserving ecological balance. This process will contribute to young people reshaping their daily life practices. Strengthening Leadership, Participation and Volunteering Skills: The project will encourage young people to actively participate in decision-making processes, thereby developing democratic participation and social responsibility awareness. In addition, solidarity, teamwork and leadership skills will be supported through volunteer-based activities. In this process, the inclusive involvement of socially and economically disadvantaged young people and the strengthening of diversity will be one of the priority objectives. Cross-Cultural Learning and Experience Sharing: By enabling young people from different cultural backgrounds to share their experiences on sustainable agriculture practices, a common environmental awareness will be fostered. This interaction will strengthen cross-cultural dialogue and reinforce young people's sense of global citizenship. Supporting Youth Initiatives at the Local Level: Following the project, young people will be encouraged to initiate small-scale sustainable agriculture and environmental projects in their own communities. This will support young people's potential for environmentally focused social entrepreneurship and ensure the project's impact is sustainable in the long term. Ultimately, this project will contribute to strengthening young people's environmental awareness, knowledge of sustainable agriculture, and social responsibility; in the long term, it aims to enable young people to adopt sustainable living practices and become role models and agents of change in their own communities.
