The "Youth for a Carbon-Free Future" project is an international professional development activity designed to empower youth workers with the essential green and digital skills needed to address global climate challenges. Our mission is to create a generation of proactive "eco-ambassadors" who can lead impactful environmental initiatives in their local communities. By leveraging the principles of non-formal education and the core priorities of the Erasmus+ programme, this project will facilitate a transformative learning journey for all participants. The project's primary objective is to enhance the professional competencies of youth workers, enabling them to effectively integrate sustainability and digital transformation into their daily practices. We aim to equip them with practical knowledge of the circular economy and green entrepreneurship, while simultaneously building their digital competencies for effective campaigning and project management. A key goal is to promote inclusivity by actively involving youth workers with fewer opportunities, including those from rural and socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. We will reach these participants through our expert partner organizations, such as Masaweh from Jordan, which has extensive experience with migrant and refugee youth. The core of the project is a week-long professional development activity in Batman, Turkey. The training is built on a highly interactive and participant-centered methodology. Instead of traditional lectures, we will use a variety of non-formal education methods, including workshops, simulations, and field visits to local environmental initiatives. Participants will learn by doing, working in groups to create digital content for environmental campaigns, designing project proposals, and conducting real-world case studies. The activities will be led by a team of expert trainers, brought in and managed by the Batman Governorship Project Office, who will provide hands-on guidance and mentorship. The Batman Governorship Project Office serves as the coordinating organization, responsible for overall project management, financial administration, and logistical execution. We work in close collaboration with our carefully selected partners from Greece, Jordan, Italy, Romania, Portugal, Slovenia, and Sweden. Each partner was chosen for its specific expertise, ranging from digital tools and creative media to social inclusion and project management, ensuring a well-rounded consortium. The Project Office will handle all practical arrangements, including travel, accommodation, and meals, to ensure a seamless experience for all. A comprehensive plan for participant safety is in place, including emergency contacts, a detailed safety briefing, and the mandatory requirement for all participants to have valid travel and health insurance. We are committed to the formal recognition of participant learning. All youth workers will receive a Youthpass certificate, which officially documents the competencies they have developed in areas like civic competence, sense of initiative, and digital literacy. We will also guide participants in using their new skills to update their Europass Curriculum Vitae (CV), thereby enhancing their professional mobility. The project’s success will be evaluated through a multi-stage process. We will conduct daily debriefing sessions for continuous feedback, and a final evaluation survey to assess immediate outcomes. The long-term impact will be measured with a follow-up survey conducted 3-6 months after the activity to assess the successful implementation of local projects and the continued use of learned skills. To ensure the project’s impact continues after it concludes, we have a robust sustainability and dissemination strategy. The project's primary output will be the "Green Youth Work Digital Toolkit," an open-access online repository of resources and best practices for youth workers. Participants will be empowered to become multipliers of knowledge by developing Local Action Plans and organizing multiplier events in their home countries. The strong network built among partners and participants will be maintained through the "Carbon-Free Future" network, a dedicated online platform for continued collaboration. We will also ensure the project’s results are visible through official channels such as the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform and by engaging with SALTO Youth resource centers. This multi-pronged approach ensures that the project’s benefits continue to be felt by youth workers and their communities long into the future.
