Objectives

The project aims to enhance the inclusive sports leadership competences of youth workers, to promote sport as a tool for social cohesion, and to foster the participation of disadvantaged young people in community life. Staff members of the Artvin Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports and the Provincial Directorate of Family and Social Services will take part in a 7-day professional development activity in Sweden, where they will learn new approaches inspired by Sweden’s expertise in this field. These include models that increase the participation of disadvantaged youth in sports clubs, inclusive coaching pedagogies, game-based learning, social sport activities that strengthen team spirit, and youth-centred programmes that support social integration. Diversity and inclusion policies applied in Swedish sports clubs, youth work practices implemented through municipalities, and partnership models developed with volunteer organisations will also be presented and transferred to participants. The acquired methods will then be disseminated across 40 sports clubs, 6 youth centres, 9 district youth and sports directorates, and 3 social service centres in Artvin. This will enable youth workers to design and implement more innovative, inclusive, and socially cohesive practices in their daily work. In addition, a sustainable inter-institutional cooperation model will be established, while the project will directly contribute to Erasmus+ priorities by promoting equal opportunities, inclusion, and the overall quality of youth work.
