Objectives

The “AI Ethics on Stage” project aims to strengthen youth workers’ capacity to communicate complex concepts such as digital ethics, AI ethics and data privacy to young people in creative and accessible ways. As digital transformation increasingly affects youth, the lack of ethical awareness in youth work has emerged as an urgent area of need. A needs analysis conducted by project partners in Türkiye, Spain, Italy, Tunisia and North Macedonia with 170 youth workers and young people revealed this gap through concrete data. 51% of participants reported low confidence in explaining AI-related ethical risks, while 67% identified the abstract nature of these topics as the main challenge. Additionally, 88% expressed positive attitudes toward experiential methods such as creative drama and showed strong interest in developing skills like ethical role-play, empathetic communication and intercultural values. In response, the project will support youth workers’ professional development by providing both knowledge and pedagogical tools. The training program will include innovative methods such as creative drama, digital storytelling and ethical simulations. Participants will develop empathy, critical thinking and value-based decision-making skills, enabling deeper and more meaningful engagement with young people. This approach aligns with the pedagogical coherence and non-formal learning principles of the Erasmus+ Youth Quality Standards. Participants will use AI-supported tools to produce digital content such as videos, podcasts, posters and ethical scenario booklets. These materials will be used in youth work to communicate ethical messages effectively. This objective directly supports the Erasmus+ Youth Goals of digital transformation and creativity. The project also promotes intercultural learning by bringing together youth workers from different countries to collaborate, address shared ethical challenges and experience democratic participation. Gender equality is addressed as a horizontal priority; to increase the representation of women in digital fields, at least 60% of participants will be female youth workers. Learning outcomes will be documented through Youthpass and made visible through daily reflection sessions and digital evaluation tools. At the end of the project, each participant will organize a local dissemination activity and partner organizations will share digital content via social media and websites to amplify the project’s impact. In conclusion, “AI Ethics on Stage” empowers youth workers to become ethical leaders in the digital age. Fully aligned with Erasmus+ standards, the project offers an innovative and sustainable model for improving the quality and relevance of youth work.
