Our project aims to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to address climate change and sustainability through digital creativity, visual communication, and non-formal learning. It will be implemented with the participation of a total of 32 young people and youth workers from Turkey, Poland, Greece, North Macedonia, Armenia, and Romania. The main purpose of this project is to enable youth workers to deal with climate change and sustainability in a more effective way with young people and to integrate creative, digital, and participatory methods into their daily work. We know that traditional methods are not always attractive for young people. Therefore, by the end of the project, we aim for youth workers to be able to use modern visual communication tools (poster design, video production, digital campaigns) to capture young people’s attention on environmental issues. Furthermore, we aim to increase the visibility of youth work in society, strengthen young people’s active citizenship skills, and spread climate awareness to broader communities. In this context, our objectives are: To develop the digital and creative competences of youth workers. - Equip youth workers with practical skills such as poster design, video editing, storytelling, and campaign planning. - Enrich their methodological toolbox so that environmental issues can be made more attractive, interactive, and understandable for young people. - Integrate modern digital tools into workshops, making youth work more engaging and effective. To support youth workers in transforming eco-anxiety into positive action. - Provide methods for young people to turn their concerns about the climate crisis into creative and collective initiatives. - Use visual expression, campaigns, and group projects as tools to address emotions and strengthen resilience. - Position youth work as a space where wellbeing, empowerment, and environmental responsibility come together. To strengthen the bridge role of youth work between young people and society. - Encourage youth workers to take youth work outside traditional spaces and bring campaigns into schools, youth centres, and public areas. - Show communities that youth work makes concrete contributions to active citizenship and sustainability. - Increase the visibility and recognition of youth workers as facilitators of active citizenship. To strengthen the institutional capacity of partner organisations. - Introduce new approaches and methods that can be used in future activities. - Strengthen international cooperation and create a strong network on sustainability and digital youth work. - Share toolkits, posters, videos, and campaigns as open resources at the end of the project to make them reusable and adaptable. To create a good practice model in the field of youth work. - Combine creativity, digitalisation, and environmental education in a holistic training concept. - Provide youth workers with a replicable methodology that can inspire other organisations. - Show at the European level that youth work can address global challenges such as climate change in innovative ways. This project will directly contribute to the daily practices of youth workers. By the end of the project, youth workers will gain the ability to use more attractive and contemporary methods when addressing environmental and climate issues. They will be able to carry out creative production processes such as preparing posters, shooting videos, and designing digital campaigns together with young people, thereby increasing their participation and motivation. At the same time, they will be able to better identify the eco-anxiety experienced by young people and guide them to transform this into positive social action. Youth work will not be limited to classrooms or workshops but will be expanded to reach different segments of society, thereby strengthening its visibility and recognition. In conclusion, this project aims to make youth workers more skilled, more creative, and more effective. In this way, young people will be empowered to become more aware, active, responsible, and innovative citizens in the face of global challenges such as the climate crisis.
