The main goal of this project is to strengthen the capacity of youth workers in the field of psychosocial support by introducing and applying the structured Problem Management Plus (PM+) methodology. With this project, we would like to help youth workers become more confident and skilled in delivering psychosocial support to young people, especially in situations related to crisis, stress, or recovery after difficult experiences. They will learn how to use PM+ as a practical tool in their daily work, so that they can better support young people’s emotional well-being, resilience, and social inclusion. In addition, the project aims to develop key competences such as resilience, problem-solving, and empathic communication, which are essential for youth workers who are often working closely with vulnerable groups. By combining theory with real-life practice, participants will not only improve their personal skills but also gain the ability to design and implement structured interventions in their own organisations and communities. The partnership between Uluslararası Doktorlar Derneği (as the applicant organisation), Istanbul Medeniyet University, and Youth Station Association from France will create a strong platform for international cooperation and knowledge exchange. Each partner brings a unique perspective: academic expertise, field experience, and youth work practice. Through this collaboration, we aim to build a network of youth workers who are able to apply PM+ in different contexts, share their experiences with others, and promote a more professional and evidence-based approach in youth work. In the long term, the project seeks to contribute to the professionalisation of youth work by encouraging the use of structured psychosocial approaches and by empowering youth workers to take an active role in improving the quality and impact of youth services. We also expect that participants will be able to transfer the skills they gain to their colleagues and peers, creating a multiplying effect within their organisations and local communities.
