The “Digital Travelers: Navigating the Maze of Disinformation (DeMaze)” project addresses the challenges young people face in accessing information in today’s digital world, where social media algorithms and echo chambers heavily influence their information flow. The project aims to strengthen participants’ digital literacy, news verification, and critical thinking skills, helping them understand the effects of social media manipulation, propaganda techniques, and algorithms on individual behavior through drama and other informal learning methods. Additionally, it seeks to provide intercultural learning opportunities to enhance young people’s active citizenship awareness and foster sensitivity to diverse perspectives. Participants will engage in workshops, simulations, and social media campaign design, developing their individual digital skills while creating collective awareness against disinformation in society. In this way, the project aims to cultivate young people as active and responsible individuals in the digital world—those who not only consume information but also analyze, question, and make informed choices.
