We want to strengthen the quality, safety and impact of youth work with young people who experience discrimination and exclusion, especially related to sexual orientation, gender identity and expression. The project will equip youth workers with a practical, repeatable method (Forum Theatre within Theatre of the Oppressed) that helps young people rehearse real-life responses to harmful situations in a structured and safer learning environment, rather than only discussing problems in abstract terms. From the perspective of youth work practice, the objectives are to improve youth workers’ competences in facilitation, ethical and consent-based group work, inclusion-oriented activity design, and conflict de-escalation. Participants will learn how to create and facilitate Forum Theatre processes, manage group dynamics, handle sensitive content responsibly, and adapt sessions so that young people with fewer opportunities can participate safely. The project will also strengthen partners’ organisational practice by embedding minimum quality standards and producing a facilitation-ready toolkit (session plans, scene templates, group agreement and consent templates, inclusion adaptations, debrief prompts and simple evaluation tools) that can be used in daily programmes and shared with other youth workers beyond the partnership.
