According to EU guidelines, this project should primarily focus on travel and on discovering other countries and cultures for young people with disabilities. We aim to make this possible in a way that is as exciting and enjoyable as possible for the participants. We also hope to strengthen their independence and everyday life skills so that, in the future, they are more willing and able to travel on their own. Getting to know different ways of life, cultures and support systems for people with disabilities in other countries will broaden the horizons of the whole group. The necessary communication with people in other countries will help to reduce mutual barriers and prejudices. We want this project to further develop social skills and a sense of responsibility in ALL participants. In addition, we hope to strengthen their self-confidence through positive experiences and encouraging feedback from new conversation partners from another country. Through the film documentation of the entire trip, which will remain publicly accessible in the long term, we aim to raise awareness of the specific issue of travelling for people with disabilities. At the same time, we want to present the very concrete challenges and benefits of such a trip from the authentic perspective of the people with disabilities themselves.
