By implementing this project, we aim to empower young people from Belgium, Curaçao and Poland to actively respond to environmental challenges they experience in their daily lives through non-formal learning, creativity and civic engagement. From a youth work perspective, the project seeks to transform young people’s concern about pollution, overconsumption and environmental degradation into concrete action by providing a safe and participatory space for learning, experimentation and self-expression. Through eco-art and hands-on activities based on the 5Rs, young people will develop environmental awareness, practical skills, creativity and a sense of responsibility, while strengthening key competences such as teamwork, critical thinking and initiative-taking. The project also aims to promote inclusion and equal participation by actively involving young people from diverse backgrounds and supporting peer learning and intercultural dialogue. Ultimately, the Youth Exchange serves as a starting point for long-term engagement, enabling participants to transfer their learning into local actions and youth initiatives that contribute to more sustainable and resilient communities.
