With this project we want to bring young people from Molenbeek and Barcelona together in a safe group where, through sport and social activities, they can learn what inclusion looks like in real life. We want young people who do not naturally have access to international opportunities to experience that they belong, that their voice matters, and that they can take responsibility. In practice, this means we will work on greater self-confidence, better communication, cooperation in a diverse group, and learning to deal calmly with differences and conflict. We also want young people to dare to take initiative, for example by taking on small roles in the group (being a buddy, co-leading an activity, helping to uphold group agreements). In terms of youth work practice, we use sport as a lever, but the learning process is broader: young people learn by doing, by living together, and through daily reflection. We aim to strengthen their social skills and intercultural openness, while also increasing their sense of connection to Europe. After the exchange, we will translate the results into our daily work: participants will share their experience with other young people and parents, and we will integrate the methods that work well into trainings and camps, so that young people who did not travel can also benefit.
