We want to inspire and reach soon-to-be or young leaders and bring them in touch with a vibrant field of youth work in and with a focus on the European context. We want to empower young leaders to make the jump to combining local and international youth work, by offering a platform for exchange and inspiration for youth workers or soon-to-be youth workers. As we believe strongly in inclusion and participation, we want to inspire and enforce participants in this methodology. By building connections and playing games together, we create an environment that creates an open mind for other organisations, cultures and to exchange and connect. The current geopolitical situation brought us to the focus of building a community and bringing a positive message to young people. As FIMCAP, we are a network of grassroot-level based organisations where we already act in a local context. However we want to inspire and show that local and European activities and interests do not have to be two opposites. Participants will reflect on how they and youth work are key-elements in a local community that acts in a global society in a democratic European context. We build our communities by working together. FIMCAP, the network that all the participating organisations are part of, integrates where possible the following themes; the climate issues, solidarity and youth wellbeing. In this project we will pay attention to this. By integrating small moments for big lessons. For example an explanation on the campground trash separation, can become more and lead to a valuable exchange on regional differences in tackling this. Additionally, we want the participants to be aware of the power of informal learning by learning through games, challenges, creative sessions, teambuilding, energizers and so on, based strongly on non-formal education methods. We will support the individual participant during the project to translate their learning process in the Youthpass. With the purpose of strengthening self-worth with our youngsters and engaging them in taking up an active citizen role in their local and bigger ‘space’.
