Objectives

Kras Jeugdwerk vzw is implementing an Erasmus+ KA153 (Mobility of Youth Workers) project in cooperation with Stichting Girls Forward from Amsterdam, a specialised organisation in gender-sensitive and preventive youth work with girls and young women. A total of 15 female youth workers from Kras will participate in a multi-day training hosted by Girls Forward in the Netherlands. The training focuses on empowerment-based methodologies, mental health, identity development, safe spaces and leadership for girls, particularly those from vulnerable or marginalised backgrounds. In addition, a reciprocal job-shadowing and exchange visit will take place in Antwerp, fostering mutual learning, reflection and exchange of practices. The project aims to strengthen youth workers’ professional competences in line with the Youthpass Key Competences, with particular emphasis on personal and social competences, citizenship competences, cultural awareness, entrepreneurship and high-quality non-formal education. The acquired knowledge and skills will be structurally embedded within Kras through internal reflection sessions, peer learning, adaptation of methodologies and the development of practical guidelines for girls’ work. Through targeted system development and outreach activities, the project outcomes will be disseminated within the organisation and the local youth work sector. In this way, the project contributes to quality enhancement, innovation and professional recognition of gender-specific youth work, while strengthening the European dimension within Kras Jeugdwerk vzw.
