By implementing the NEURO AI project, we aim to support youth work in adapting to the realities in which today’s young people live, learn, and interact. The project is based on the understanding that youth work increasingly faces challenges related to attention, motivation, digital behavior, cognitive diversity, and the growing presence of artificial intelligence in young people’s everyday lives. In this context, our main objective is to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to better understand how different cognitive profiles function, including neurodivergent ones, and how technology and AI influence learning processes, social skills, and the mental well-being of young people. The project seeks to create a meaningful connection between neuroscience, youth work practice, and digital tools, translating these topics into the language of non-formal education. From a youth work perspective, this means developing more flexible, reflective, and inclusive approaches that take individual differences among young people into account, rather than relying on one-size-fits-all methods. Through the project, we want youth workers to gain greater confidence in working with young people who have different learning styles, sensitivities to stimuli, and relationships with the digital environment. A key objective of NEURO AI is to support youth workers in recognizing the cognitive needs of young people and adapting their activities so they become more accessible, engaging, and meaningful. The project also aims to foster a critical and ethical understanding of the role of artificial intelligence in youth work—not as a replacement for human connection, but as a tool that can support learning, creativity, and participation when used consciously and responsibly. From a practical standpoint, the project aims to improve the quality of interaction between youth workers and young people by promoting better communication, greater sensitivity to individual differences, and more effective use of digital and AI-based tools. In the long term, NEURO AI seeks to contribute to the modernization of youth work, ensuring that it responds to the needs of contemporary generations and supports young people’s development in an increasingly complex, digital, and cognitively diverse environment.
