Objectives

The project “404 Connection Found” aims to empower young people and youth workers to develop critical thinking, media literacy, and intercultural communication skills through non-formal education methods. From a youth work perspective, the main objectives are: 1. Enhancing Youth Skills: Equip participants with tools to critically assess information, challenge misinformation, and communicate effectively within diverse cultural contexts. 2. Promoting Inclusion: Ensure equal participation for young people facing social, economic, or geographic barriers, fostering a sense of belonging and active citizenship. 3. Strengthening Youth Work Practices: Provide youth workers with innovative methods, experiential exercises, and dialogue tools that can be applied in their daily work with young people. 4. Encouraging Collaboration and Networking: Facilitate connections among youth organizations across Europe and partner countries, promoting knowledge exchange, joint initiatives, and future cooperation. 5. Raising Awareness of Social and Environmental Responsibility: Integrate activities that promote sustainable practices, climate awareness, and community engagement, making youth more conscious of their local and global impact. 6. Applying Lessons from Previous Experiences: After participating in Adventure Europe VI and the Youth@Work Forum, I, Rana, as a youth worker, writer and facilitator of this project, recognized several challenges and gaps in youth engagement. The “404 Connection Found” youth exchange was designed to implement the knowledge and tools I acquired through SALTO projects, ensuring that youth participation is meaningful, inclusive, and impactful. Overall, the project seeks to create a lasting positive effect by empowering young people and youth workers to apply newly acquired skills in their communities, improve the quality of youth work, and foster active, responsible, and informed European citizens.
