“Heritage Treasures: Young Explorers of Europe” unites young people from 5 countries to discover and preserve Europe’s cultural heritage. Even though this project was not granted in the last deadline, we carefully considered every comment from the evaluation form. We have improved and developed the project to make it even better. We believe this topic is very important for cultural sharing and preserving heritage, and we are confident it can make a strong impact. We want to carry out this project for several reasons: Primarily, we aim to spread the European dimension and raise awareness about Europe's rich and diverse cultural heritage among young people from different European countries. This project is vital because it offers many benefits, both at a personal level for participants and at a broader level for communities and organizations involved. OBJECTIVES: To strengthen participants’ knowledge and awareness of cultural heritage by exploring both tangible elements (such as monuments and artefacts) and intangible elements (such as traditions and languages), and by understanding why preserving cultural diversity and history matters today through hands-on and interactive activities. To promote dialogue and intercultural exchange by creating a safe space where young people learn from each other, share traditions, and experience how cultural differences can connect people rather than divide them. To develop practical skills for heritage engagement by giving participants the opportunity to learn how to preserve and tell cultural stories, including using simple digital tools to document, present, and share heritage in creative ways. To support inclusivity and challenge stereotypes by showing that cultural differences are to be celebrated, not judged To create tangible project results and digital spaces for exploration by producing a digital booklet and online materials that allow young people to discover, explore, and learn about heritage sites and cultural stories in an engaging way. To motivate young people to stay active in their communities and in European programmes by encouraging continued participation in local follow-up activities and future Erasmus+ opportunities after the exchange. Approach and Youth Work Perspective The project uses non-formal education methods such as interactive workshops, cultural visits, crafts, storytelling sessions, intercultural evenings, and daily reflection groups. These methods ensure that learning is hands-on, creative, and inclusive. Reflection activities and Youthpass will help participants recognise the competences they gained, such as intercultural communication, teamwork, digital literacy, and leadership. From a youth work perspective, this project goes beyond heritage learning. It builds self-confidence, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership competences, while encouraging solidarity and respect for diversity. Participants will not only learn but also create, share, and inspire others in their communities. Long-Term Vision By becoming cultural ambassadors, participants will continue to use their new skills and inspire their peers after the exchange. Partner organisations will also integrate project results - such as the booklet, videos, and methods like digital storytelling - into their regular youth programmes and school activities. This ensures sustainability and long-term benefits for both young people and organisations. Through these objectives, the project contributes to the Erasmus+ goals of inclusion, cultural awareness, youth participation, and skill development, helping to build a more cohesive and diverse European society.
