Objectives

By implementing this project, we aim to substantially strengthen the competencies of youth workers, enabling them to effectively support young entrepreneurs, particularly within the sports and tourism sectors. The primary objective is to equip youth workers with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools required to foster entrepreneurial mindsets and initiatives among young people, including those facing fewer opportunities. In doing so, the project seeks to empower young people to develop sustainable initiatives, respond to socio economic challenges, and contribute positively to their local communities. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project seeks to achieve several key objectives: 1. Enhance the Quality of Youth Work Services: The project focuses on strengthening the professional capacity of youth workers through practical entrepreneurial education. This includes supporting youth workers in guiding young people through core stages of entrepreneurship such as idea assessment, market analysis, business planning, funding identification, and sector specific considerations related to sports and tourism. By improving these competencies, the project contributes to higher quality, more relevant, and more effective youth work services. 2. Foster Innovation and Youth Entrepreneurship: Youth workers will develop the ability to design and deliver innovative programmes that actively engage young people in entrepreneurial activities linked to sports and tourism. Through exposure to practical tools and applied methods, the project encourages the creation of initiatives that respond to real life challenges while making use of local resources and opportunities. 3. Empower Young People Facing Fewer Opportunities: A central focus of the project is to support youth workers who engage with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, including those facing barriers related to education, employment, or social inclusion. The project prepares youth workers to use entrepreneurship as an inclusive and empowering approach, enabling young people to build confidence, develop transferable skills, and explore pathways towards self employment or job creation. 4. Promote Entrepreneurship as a Tool for Social and Environmental Impact: The project highlights entrepreneurship not only as an economic activity, but also as a means to address wider societal challenges such as unemployment, gender inequality, and environmental sustainability. By embedding this perspective into youth work practice, the project encourages youth workers to inspire young people to develop initiatives that generate positive social and environmental outcomes alongside economic value. 5. Encourage Regional Socio Economic Development: By equipping youth workers with the skills to identify and develop market niches within their local contexts, the project contributes to broader regional development goals. Particular emphasis is placed on tourism based initiatives and sports related enterprises that support job creation, promote cultural exchange, and encourage sustainable local practices. 6. Develop Practical Skills for Project Implementation: Through experiential and hands on learning activities, youth workers will gain practical experience in designing, managing, and evaluating entrepreneurial projects. This includes exploring funding mechanisms, developing basic marketing approaches, and assessing the impact and sustainability of initiatives, all of which are essential for supporting long term entrepreneurial success. 7. Promote Collaboration and Peer Learning: The project brings together youth workers from diverse organisational, cultural, and national backgrounds, creating a space for exchange, mutual learning, and cooperation. Peer learning and cross border collaboration support innovation and allow good practices to be adapted and transferred across different youth work contexts. 8. Build Long Term Capacity for Youth Work: By providing youth workers with a comprehensive understanding of entrepreneurship, including its conceptual foundations, practical applications, and broader social dimensions, the project ensures sustained capacity building beyond the duration of the activity. This long term approach enables youth workers to continuously support young people in entrepreneurial learning and development in their future work. Ultimately, the project aims to generate a ripple effect by empowering youth workers to transfer their knowledge and experience to young people, who in turn will be better equipped to develop sustainable businesses or initiatives that address concrete societal needs. This approach contributes to regional socio economic development while promoting self employment, innovation, and inclusion. By aligning youth work practice with broader goals of youth empowerment and social change, the project ensures meaningful and lasting impact for youth workers, young people, and the communities in which they live.
