Objectives

The project Unstoppable - Positive Psychology in Action aims to make a substantial contribution to upgrading the quality of youth work by strengthening the role of youth workers as key actors of empowerment, inclusion & social change. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project seeks to equip youth professionals with modern, innovative & applicable methodologies that enable them to support young people with fewer opportunities more effectively. At the same time, it aims to cultivate a framework in which mental wellbeing, resilience, creative expression & active participation are integral parts of everyday practice. A central objective of the project is to strengthen the capacity of youth workers to create safe, supportive & inspiring learning environments in which young people with fewer opportunities can discover their strengths, overcome barriers to participation & feel capable of shaping their lives & communities in positive ways. The project responds to real needs observed across Europe, where many young people from rural areas, disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds, migrant or minority communities, as well as young people with low self-esteem or experiencing social isolation, face systemic barriers to accessing quality learning & development opportunities. From the perspective of youth workers, the project recognises that although they are on the frontline of supporting these groups, they often lack specialised training in areas such as resilience-building, creative non-formal learning or outdoor experiential education. Unstoppable - Positive Psychology in Action seeks to address this gap by offering a holistic learning experience that combines positive psychology, creativity & outdoor approaches. Specifically, the project aims to: - Strengthen youth workers’ skills in promoting young people’s mental wellbeing & resilience. - Develop their capacity to use creative & artistic methods as tools for expression, communication & empowerment. - Integrate outdoor & experiential forms of learning into everyday youth work practice. - Foster inclusive approaches adapted to different cultural, linguistic & educational backgrounds. Through the training activities, participating youth workers will strengthen, in addition to thematic competences, transversal skills such as communication, intercultural awareness, leadership, cooperation & problem-solving. Particular emphasis is placed on hands-on practice of facilitation & mentoring methods, enabling participants to gain confidence in applying them in real-life contexts. An important objective of the project is to embed inclusion in every aspect of youth work practice. Youth workers will learn how to adapt activities to young people with diverse needs, how to address barriers linked to low self-confidence, social exclusion or limited access to opportunities, & how to create non-judgemental, safe learning environments. The intercultural dimension of the project provides space for exchanging experiences, comparing realities & co-creating approaches that reflect the diversity of young people across Europe. Furthermore, the project places strong emphasis on the wellbeing & empowerment of youth workers themselves. It acknowledges that many professionals operate under pressure, with limited resources & increased risk of burnout. Through reflective processes, self-care practices & peer learning, participants will strengthen their own mental resilience, motivation & sense of professional value. As a tangible outcome, the project will produce co-created workshop modules that combine positive psychology, creativity & outdoor learning. These materials will be tested, refined based on feedback & made openly available to the wider youth sector as practical implementation guides Unstoppable - Positive Psychology in Action aims to support the transition towards a more qualitative, inclusive & innovative youth work sector in Europe. By equipping youth workers with practical, modern & adaptable tools, the project ensures that its impact extends beyond the direct participants, reaching organisations, local communities & European networks. In this way, it contributes meaningfully to the promotion of inclusion, participation, empowerment & quality learning, as outlined in the EU Youth Strategy & the European Youth Goals.
