Objectives

From the perspective of youth work practice, this project aims to create meaningful international learning experiences for young people who would otherwise not have access to them, while developing practical competences that connect directly to their future employment and personal growth. Our first objective is genuine inclusion. We will ensure that at least fifty percent of participants are young people with fewer opportunities, and that they participate fully alongside their peers rather than being accommodated as an afterthought. This means eliminating financial barriers completely, establishing buddy pairs for first-time international travellers, providing visual and multilingual support materials, adapting pace where needed, and preparing individual support plans for participants with identified needs. For many of our Czech participants, this will be their first time leaving the country or boarding an airplane. Our youth work approach treats this as an opportunity for transformative experience, not a logistical problem to manage. Our second objective is authentic youth participation across all project phases. Young people were involved in shaping the project concept before this application was written. During preparation, participants will create study materials for each other and present them online, taking ownership of content rather than receiving it passively. During the exchange, they will make decisions within their teams, rotate through leadership roles, and build their business concepts through their own work rather than following instructions. After the exchange, they will lead peer workshops and presentations in their own communities, becoming the primary vehicle for dissemination. This approach treats participants as active contributors to their own learning and to the learning of others. Our third objective is developing competences that matter for young people's futures. The entrepreneurial skills at the centre of this project, including financial planning, marketing, pitching ideas, and working in multicultural teams, are directly relevant to EU Youth Goal number seven on Quality Employment. Participants will leave with practical abilities they can apply whether they pursue their own ventures or seek employment in established businesses. The methodology itself, learning by doing, reflecting, and receiving feedback, supports EU Youth Goal number eight on Quality Learning and builds habits of self-assessment and continuous improvement that serve young people throughout their lives. Our fourth objective is creating genuine peer-to-peer exchange where both groups teach and learn. Czech participants bring gastronomy expertise; Spanish participants bring business thinking. Neither group arrives as the expert or the learner. This structure models the kind of respectful collaboration across difference that characterises quality youth work, and it ensures that every participant has something valuable to contribute regardless of their background or prior experience. Our fifth objective is sustainable impact beyond the exchange itself. Returning participants will lead peer workshops reaching their schoolmates, spreading learning to young people who did not travel. Materials and methods will be integrated into both organisations' regular programmes. The project is designed so that its effects continue through existing structures rather than depending on additional funding or special initiatives.
