Objectives

The core activity is a 8-days long youth exchange “Resilient Art-being”, taking place from 04.11.-11.11.2026 in the Czechia. The exchange will bring together young people from Ukraine, Poland and Portugal to support young people’s emotional well-being and resilience through creative, sustainable practices while fostering awareness, responsibility, and a supportive international community. The project is based on a clear and shared observation coming from our practical youth work experience, as well as surveys and specialised studies. Today, many young adults experience high mental load, anxiety, demotivation, and emotional exhaustion. Young people are among the most affected groups when it comes to stress, anxiety, risk of depression, and loss of motivation in education and work. A fast-paced society, economic pressure, difficulty accessing employment, and strong expectations to “succeed” create constant pressure. This situation is reinforced by excessive phone use, digital addictions, and a lack of meaningful offline activities. Many young people feel isolated, disconnected from others, and disconnected from themselves. They often lack hobbies, creative spaces, and safe environments where they can express emotions freely. Instead of feeling supported, they tend to withdraw and close in on themselves. “Resilient Art-being” proposes an alternative based on creativity, community living, and connection with nature. We strongly believe that art and creative expression can have a cathartic effect and support better mental health. Manual and creative activities support both emotional and physical well-being. From a youth work perspective, the project is grounded in non-formal education. Young people are not passive learners. They are active participants and co-creators of the process. Responsibilities are shared, and learning happens through experience, reflection, and group life. The exchange will be a safe, open, and inclusive space. This allows young people to explore emotions, express themselves without judgment, and learn by doing. The focus is not on performance, but on process, self-awareness, and peer learning. Living together in nature, with a conscious and agreed limitation of phone use, supports genuine connection, presence, and emotional regulation. A stronger relationship with nature also contributes positively to mental health and supports more sustainable attitudes. The project brings together young people from Poland, Ukraine, Portugal and Czech Republic. Multicultural living is a key element of the project. Creating a safe and supportive international community allows participants to experience empathy, understanding, and solidarity beyond cultural differences. Through shared daily life, creative activities, and reflection, participants develop intercultural competences and feel part of a community where they are heard and valued. These relationships and experiences are designed to last beyond the project. The main objectives of “Resilient Art-being” are to: 1.Offer young people creative tools and practices that can support emotional regulation, resilience, and healthy coping strategies. 2.Raise awareness about how the use of creative tools and practices can improve well-being and support mental health. 3.Equip young people with simple, sustainable habits that support personal wellbeing and environmental responsibility. 4.Foster a sense of community, peer support and shared responsibility by practicing mindful, sustainable ways of living in an international group setting. Through this project, we aim to empower young people to better understand themselves, take care of their mental well-being, and carry these learning experiences into their personal, educational, and professional lives.
