Objectives

The project concept is built on the practical experience and identified needs of youth workers engaged with vulnerable youth - specifically with unemployed youth, who are struggling with health disabilities and experiencing social isolation. The project addresses the recent significant worsening status and well-being of young people. Current partners' experience reflecting regular counselling, mentoring and psycho-social support to vulnerable youth revealed that young people currently face significant challenges, particularly in: mental health (rapid growth of emotional disorders, anxieties etc.), unemployment (increased number of young unemployed, especially vulnerable youth due to school dropouts, not appropriate education path), social exclusion (social isolation, loneliness, depressions). Therefore, youth workers must flexibly reflect on the current situation and adapt their work with vulnerable youth, especially to intensify psychosocial support to youth, integrate mental health help, foster personal development, facilitate the creation of healthy relationships to support interactions in family, community, at work placement, and prepare vulnerable youth for future work and balanced life. We've encountered a new issue coming from current circumstances and challenges faced by young people: providing a complex of psycho-social activities, which is a new approach for us. Therefore, we need to enhance our skills and competencies in this area. We would like to broaden our professional perspectives, learn new methodologies and approaches, and find sources of inspiration to improve the quality of our work with vulnerable young people. This will be achieved by building on experiences and good practices from various EU countries where these approaches are being successfully addressed. Project objectives: - increase professional competences and improve knowledge of the youth workers who provide psychosocial support to vulnerable youth, - share good practices, tools and experience among youth workers supporting vulnerable youth from different organisations (NGOs specialized in education, counselling and mentoring work with vulnerable youth, experienced in promoting inclusive labour market), and from different European countries (Czech Republic, Austria and Italy), - foster innovation in youth work - to learn and adopt new techniques, innovative and inspiring methods of counselling, mentoring, especially psychosocial approaches, to raise awareness about effective use of digital tools in youth work in partner organisations, - increase the standard and effectiveness of approaches provided to vulnerable youth, - promote inclusion - to share the methods of work with young people with health disabilities, from socially disadvantaged backgrounds, with low mental wellbeing, - encourage youth workers by fostering their professional and personal development, equipping them to face new challenges and handle the demanding work with vulnerable youth, - empower European cooperation of youth workers, in particular activation workers, personal development coaches, social workers, counsellors, mentors from EU organisations supporting vulnerable youth.
