Objectives

The Consent+ project is a training course bringing together youth workers from several European countries to strengthen their competence and confidence in addressing sexual education topics in youth work. The project focuses on consent, communication, boundaries, relationships, body knowledge, and responding to sensitive questions through rights-based, inclusive, and trauma-sensitive approaches. Rooted in non-formal education and experiential learning, the training combines reflection, scenario-based learning, creative methods, workshop simulations, and structured competence recognition. A key output is the co-created Consent+ Guide, ensuring practical transferability beyond the mobility. Our objectives are: Strengthen youth workers’ professional competence and confidence in delivering sexual education. Participants will deepen their understanding of consent as a communicative and relational practice and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to facilitate discussions on boundaries, relationships, emotions, and body awareness. By the end of the training, at least 90% of participants will report increased confidence in addressing sensitive topics in youth work settings. Equip youth workers with practical, transferable non-formal education methods. Participants will design, test, and refine their own consent-based workshops in country teams, using a structured methodology guide and peer feedback. Each participant will commit to implementing at least one activity with young people and one with youth workers or educators after the project, ensuring direct transfer into practice. Strengthen organisational quality, innovation, and prevention-oriented youth work. Through structured dissemination plans and follow-up activities, each partner organisation will integrate Consent+ methods into its regular programmes. The Consent+ Guide, educational videos (“Consent+ in 90 Seconds”), Youthpass, and digital open badges will ensure recognition and long-term visibility of results. Through these objectives, Consent+ improves the quality, inclusiveness, and professional standards of youth work practice, empowering youth workers to create safer spaces, promote respectful relationships, and contribute to the prevention of sexual violence across diverse European contexts.
