The implementation of the "European Mosaic" project aims to support the comprehensive and sustainable personal development of young people with limited opportunities. Through collective travel and joint activities, participants will develop the skills necessary for life in a dynamically changing environment, including effective self-management and time management. The project focuses on strengthening teamwork, social awareness, and empathy, and will enhance the independence and self-confidence of participants with limited opportunities. In addition to the personal development of the individuals involved, the project also aims to deepen understanding of European values, promote openness to new cultures, and discover European diversity, with an emphasis on environmental awareness and the European identity of participants. Twenty-two students are involved in the project, focusing in their travel groups on topics that interest them, devoting their free time to them and broadening their horizons within European borders through their participation in the project. In the safety of the group, they gain valuable international experience and fulfill the specific needs of each individual. The topics of the selected activities are very diverse and demonstrate the great potential of the participants. The proposed trips have a variety of focuses, ranging from history, ecology, culture, and discovering European diversity with an emphasis on environmental awareness and the European identity of the participants, to architecture. As part of the project, participants will acquire and improve their digital skills in real life. The activities are also linked to the expected goals of the individual informal education journeys. The theme of history connects the past with the present and provides a better understanding of the roots of European identity. The topic of ecology is crucial for participants with various interests. Learning about sustainable solutions in Nordic countries and their impact on the environment inspires active involvement in environmental protection. Multiculturalism in the Baltic States and learning about different ways of life and cultures can help participants gain a broader perspective and better understand their own place in the world. Exploring the Baltic countries offers an opportunity to learn about the history, culture, and traditions of these places and to get acquainted with the authentic reality of life there. The journey through the Balkan Peninsula will explore brutalist architecture as a form of social expression in the context of historical events, while also introducing the contemporary lifestyle in Southeast Europe.
