GreenLab: From Sustainable Ideas to Action is being developed as a direct response to a need we, as young people, are currently experiencing in our local realities. Many of us are aware of environmental challenges and strongly care about sustainability, but we often lack practical knowledge, confidence and concrete opportunities to turn these concerns into real initiatives. Green topics are still too often discussed only on a theoretical level, while young people are rarely supported to experiment, test ideas and understand how sustainability can be connected with entrepreneurship and everyday action. This gap creates a strong need for a space where learning, practice and initiative-building can happen together. The idea of this youth exchange is being shaped during our ongoing cooperation and was initiated during a recent project-writing session within an international training course. While working together in mixed groups, young participants from different countries shared common experiences of feeling motivated to act for the environment, but unsure how to start. Through group discussions, brainstorming exercises and reflection moments, the concept of GreenLab is actively taking form as a youth-driven initiative. The idea is initiated and led by young people, based on their real needs and ideas, with youth workers supporting the process only as facilitators and mentors. The objectives of the project are: to strengthen young people’s understanding of eco-entrepreneurship as a practical and accessible way to respond to environmental challenges to develop skills for transforming sustainable ideas into concrete initiatives and small-scale actions to encourage creative and innovative thinking when addressing ecological and climate-related issues to build confidence among young people to take initiative, experiment and learn through practice to promote teamwork, communication and intercultural cooperation through shared green challenges to raise awareness about responsible consumption, production and sustainable lifestyles to support the development of eco-values such as responsibility, solidarity and respect for nature to promote European values including active citizenship, solidarity, sustainability and cooperation through youth-led eco-initiatives This project is more than a learning activity; it is an active and living process where young people take ownership of their ideas and actions. By combining eco-entrepreneurship, European values and non-formal education, the project creates a space where young people feel empowered to act locally while thinking European. Through this exchange, green ideas are not only discussed, but actively shaped into initiatives that continue to grow beyond the project itself.
