Objectives

In today's world, young people's lifestyles are shaped around preferences for speed, digitalization, intensive consumption and comfort. While this transformation facilitates young people's daily life practices, the consequences on environmental impacts, natural resource use and long-term sustainability are often invisible. Daily decisions such as transportation preferences, intensive use of digital technologies, shopping habits and energy consumption, although perceived as insignificant at the individual level, have serious environmental and social impacts when taken together. One of the main needs observed in the field of youth work is the lack of experiential learning spaces where young people can realize this invisible impact-effect relationship. From this point of view, this youth exchange project aims to enable young people to question their modern living habits, analyze the short and long term impacts of these habits on the environment, and transform sustainable living from an abstract concept into a consciousness that can be integrated into daily life. The project aims for young people to both gain knowledge and review their own behaviors, develop alternative life practices and take ownership of this transformation. From a youth work perspective, the project aims to transform young people from passive learners into active participants, decision makers and solution developers. Through non-formal education methods, simulations, role plays, scenario production and group-based workshops, young people will have the opportunity to develop their critical thinking, problem solving, empathy and responsibility skills in a practical way. Thanks to the transnational group structure, young people from different countries will be able to compare their life practices, discuss environmental approaches in different contexts and develop common solutions. The project also aims to help young people gain an innovative and entrepreneurial perspective in their approach to environmental problems. Young people will be supported as individuals who not only identify the environmental problems they face, but also produce creative, feasible and locally impactful solutions to these problems. This process will increase young people's self-confidence and help them become actors who can initiate change in their communities. At the end of the project, it is aimed that the participants will see sustainable living not as a temporary project theme but as an integral part of their own lives, implement individual behavioral changes and disseminate their achievements at the local level. Thus, the project aims to create a lasting impact that goes beyond the individual awareness of young people and extends to local communities and wider youth networks. Overall Objective In general, the main objective of our project is to enable young people to question their modern living habits and integrate sustainability, environmental responsibility and innovative solutions into their daily lives. Specific Objectives - Supporting participants to make more informed and responsible decisions by making them aware of the link between their daily life choices and environmental impacts. - To develop young people's critical thinking skills on sustainable living, resource efficiency and environmental responsibility. - To encourage young people to develop innovative, entrepreneurial and solution-oriented approaches to environmental challenges.
