Objectives

The organisations involved in this project share the conviction that every young person – regardless of social background, gender or environment – deserves full access to participation in society. Young people with fewer opportunities often lack the support structures and empowering experiences that are crucial for building a strong and confident identity. Girls continue to face multiple disadvantages rooted in traditional gender norms, stereotypes and limited mobility. With this youth meeting, we aim to create a safe, inclusive and internationally connected learning space for girls aged 13–17 who face social, cultural or economic barriers. Together, we will explore the significance of growing up as a girl in different European contexts and provide room for reflection on personal dreams, challenges, and identity-building. By living, learning, and adventuring together, the girls will experience that their voice matters and that they could shape their own lives. The project pursues the following overarching objectives: • strengthening personal and social competences such as self-confidence, emotional awareness, responsibility, teamwork and communication, • encouraging active participation in society, including the desire and courage to engage in new environments beyond one’s local community, • fostering intercultural learning and gender empowerment through the recognition and appreciation of different European realities and identities. Ultimately, we want to broaden the girls’ horizons, reinforce their resilience and inspire them to see themselves as capable protagonists of their own stories.
