Objectives

With the implementation of the project “All sounds count”, the international partnership aims to create a high-quality learning and experiential space that is consistently based on the principles of inclusive, non-formal youth work. From the perspective of youth work practice, the focus is not on the transmission of isolated skills, but on the holistic support of young people in their personal, social and civic development. A central objective of the project is to enable equal access to international mobility for young people with diverse backgrounds and abilities, in particular for young people with fewer opportunities. Youth work practice repeatedly shows that this target group is underrepresented in international programmes. Through the conscious design of barrier-free and inclusive conditions, intensive pedagogical support and the use of low-threshold methods, the project seeks to reduce structural exclusion and to provide positive and empowering mobility experiences. Furthermore, the project aims to strengthen the self-efficacy and self-confidence of the participants. Through active involvement in shaping the programme, creative collaboration in international groups and the joint development of visible outcomes, young people experience that their ideas, skills and forms of expression are valued. From a youth pedagogical perspective, this represents a key learning process, especially for young people who often experience exclusion or failure in their everyday lives. Another important objective is the development of social and intercultural competences. Participants learn to communicate within a diverse group, to take responsibility, to deal constructively with conflicts and to perceive differences as an enrichment. Music serves as a connecting element that helps overcome language barriers and enables shared learning experiences. From the perspective of youth work, these competences are essential prerequisites for social participation and democratic engagement. From a youth work practice perspective, the project also aims to further develop and test innovative approaches to non-formal learning. The combination of international exchange, inclusive pedagogy and music-based work creates new learning settings that are relevant beyond the project itself. The youth workers involved will jointly reflect on their experiences and further develop their pedagogical practice. Finally, the project seeks to contribute to strengthening European solidarity and a sense of belonging. Young people experience Europe not as an abstract political concept, but as a concrete space of lived cooperation, diversity and mutual respect. From the perspective of youth work, this is an important contribution to fostering active citizenship and long-term engagement among young people. Overall, “All sounds count” aims to connect individual learning processes with structural impact: empowering young people, further developing youth work practice and making inclusive international youth work visible as a natural and integral part of contemporary youth work.
