Objectives

By implementing our project "SPORTIFY", we aim to empower young people through sport and outdoor activities as tools for resilience, solidarity, and inclusion. Our project is rooted in needs expressed by youth in our focus groups and surveys (April 2025), where 71% reported difficulties coping with stress after the COVID-19 pandemic, 64% noted a lack of inclusive sport opportunities in their communities, and 58% emphasized the need for safe spaces for intercultural dialogue. Young people directly contributed to shaping the objectives through consultations, online questionnaires, and preparatory workshops. Overall aim: To strengthen young people’s resilience, inclusion, and participation in community life through sport-based, non-formal learning that combines mental well-being, intercultural dialogue, and teamwork. Project objectives: 1. Strengthening resilience and well-being: - Specific: Equip 36 participants (18 with fewer opportunities) with coping tools and stress management strategies. - Measurable: By the end of the exchange, 80% report improved ability to cope with stress, measured by pre-/post-activity self-assessments. - Achievable: Facilitated by experienced group leaders and psychologists through role-play, outdoor challenges, and reflection groups. - Relevant: Addresses youth-identified mental health needs. - Time-bound: Achieved during the 7-day youth exchange. Competences: - Attitudes: resilience, openness, solidarity. - Skills: teamwork, stress management, problem-solving. - Knowledge: strategies for mental well-being and healthy lifestyles. 2. Promoting social inclusion through sport: - Specific: Create inclusive opportunities for young people from 6 countries to equally participate in sport and intercultural activities. - Measurable: At least 90% of participants actively engage in mixed-nationality teams. - Achievable: Activities are non-competitive, accessible, and adaptable. - Relevant: Linked to EU Youth Goal 3 (inclusive societies). - Time-bound: Achieved during the exchange, reinforced through local events within 2 months. Competences: - Attitudes: tolerance, empathy. - Skills: intercultural communication, conflict resolution. - Knowledge: equality and diversity. 3. Fostering active participation and European citizenship: - Specific: Strengthen youth engagement by co-creating outputs (digital booklet, videos, sport-based solidarity charter). - Measurable: At least 6 youth teams co-design and present outputs, reaching 500 peers online/offline. - Achievable: Group leaders support participants in design and follow-up. - Relevant: Aligned with EU Youth Goal 9 (space and participation for all). - Time-bound: Outputs finalized and disseminated by Dec 2026. Competences: - Attitudes: responsibility, initiative-taking. - Skills: advocacy, digital storytelling, leadership. - Knowledge: EU values, rights, participation opportunities. Indicators, baselines, and targets: 1. Resilience and well-being: - Baseline: 30% felt confident managing stress before. - Target: 80% (29/36) demonstrate improved coping skills. 2. Inclusion in sport: - Baseline: 35% had joined intercultural/inclusive sport before. - Target: 90% (32/36) engage consistently in inclusive group activities. 3. Active participation and outputs: - Baseline: No existing youth-co-created sport-based tools. - Target: At least 3 outputs produced, 500+ peers reached. 4. Youthpass and competence recognition: - Baseline: 25% had prior Youthpass experience. - Target: 100% (36/36) complete Youthpass with at least 3 competences validated. Organisational benefits: - Development of sport-based non-formal learning methodologies transferable to other youth projects. - Stronger international networks, especially supporting newcomer and less experienced partners. - Increased capacity to integrate sport, resilience, and inclusion into youth work practice. Youth co-design and participation: Young people shaped the project objectives during preparatory consultations, highlighting stress, isolation, and exclusion as key issues. They proposed sport and outdoor activities as solutions, which became the central methodology. During the exchange, participants will co-lead reflection, evaluation, and dissemination, ensuring the project remains youth-driven.
