Objectives

YUDECS (Young Voice: United for the Future – Youth for Democracy, Culture and Sustainability) brings together high-school and university-aged young people from Germany and Greece, including those with migrant backgrounds, to strengthen their understanding and practical experience of European values through youth work. The project responds to current challenges faced by young people such as social polarisation, discrimination experiences, digital misinformation and environmental responsibility, by offering a structured and supportive space for dialogue and cooperation. Rather than only transferring knowledge, YUDECS enables young people to experience democratic participation, intercultural dialogue, digital citizenship and environmental responsibility as interconnected dimensions of European values. Through non-formal learning methods such as workshops, simulations, peer learning, small group work and guided reflection, participants actively shape the learning process and develop ownership of their experience. The project supports young people in questioning stereotypes, strengthening their sense of belonging, and developing confidence to express their views in respectful and constructive ways. By connecting historical perspectives, contemporary debates and practical community action, YUDECS links European values to everyday youth realities. From a youth work perspective, YUDECS aims to strengthen active citizenship competences, critical thinking, intercultural communication and social responsibility. Learning outcomes will be recognised through Youthpass and reinforced through local follow-up activities and peer sharing sessions, ensuring that the impact continues beyond the mobility phase and contributes to sustainable youth participation at local and European level.
