Objectives

We will implement one small‑scale, 5‑day youth exchange in Bucharest/Voluntari, Romania, focused on Roma realities, discrimination and media literacy. The programme combines workshops on Roma history and antigypsyism, intercultural learning activities, critical analysis of media content, and practical media labs where participants create their own podcasts, short videos and photo stories. A final showcase and structured follow‑up meetings in each country will ensure that the media products are used in schools, youth centres and online. The activity will involve 5 young people aged 18–25 and 1 youth leader from Beyond Borders, all identified as having fewer opportunities in their local context (Roma background, migration experience, economic or social obstacles). We deliberately chose a small group size to create an intensive “laboratory” setting where participants can work deeply together and where we can test and refine media‑based non‑formal methods before scaling them up in future exchanges.
