With the project **SC4SF – Smart Clicks for a Sustainable Future**, we aim to support young people in developing a more conscious and responsible use of digital media while at the same time strengthening their awareness of environmental sustainability. The starting point is an observation from our daily youth work practice: digital media are a natural part of young people’s everyday life, but many of them rarely reflect on the impact of their digital behaviour – both on their own well-being and on the environment and natural resources. From a youth work perspective, we see a clear need here. Young people need safe and supportive spaces where they can reflect on their digital habits without being judged, and where they can develop their own ideas and solutions. This is exactly what we want to achieve with this project. --- Main objectives of the project: One of the central objectives is to increase **awareness of sustainable digital habits**. Participants should understand: * how their digital behaviour is connected to energy consumption and resource use, * how constant online presence can affect concentration, stress levels and leisure time, * and which small but realistic changes can be implemented in everyday life. The project is not about restrictions or moral instructions, but about reflection, exchange and the development of practical and achievable strategies. --- Strengthening participation and action competence: Another important focus is the active role of the young people. From a youth work perspective, it is essential that young people do not only receive information but are able to shape the learning process themselves. Participants will therefore: * develop their own ideas for more sustainable digital use, * create materials or small awareness actions, * learn how to share their experiences and knowledge within their local environment. The aim is that they experience themselves as **active and empowered young people** who are able to influence others. --- Development of key competences: In addition to the thematic focus, the project also supports core objectives of international youth work. Participants will strengthen their competences in the following areas: * teamwork and cooperation in international groups, * intercultural communication and openness, * self-confidence and sense of responsibility, * problem-solving skills and creative thinking. Many of the participants have little or no prior international experience. For them, the project also represents an important personal development opportunity. --- Contribution to youth work practice: From a professional youth work perspective, the project also aims to explore new approaches to linking the topics of **digitalisation and sustainability**. Both topics are highly relevant for young people’s daily lives, but they are often addressed separately in youth work practice. The methods, materials and experiences developed during the project will be integrated into the regular activities of the participating organisations and used in future youth work. --- Overall objective: In the long term, the project aims to support young people in using digital media more consciously, taking greater responsibility for their behaviour and seeing themselves as active members of a shared European learning community. In other words: the goal is not that young people become less digital, but that they become more aware and responsible in their digital lives. At the same time, they should experience that even small changes in everyday behaviour can make a difference – for themselves, for others and for a more sustainable future.
