The project aims to strengthen the quality, relevance, and innovation of youth work practice by equipping youth workers with concrete competences in sustainability, smart city approaches, digital tools, and participatory methods. Through hands-on, non-formal learning activities, the project focuses on moving youth work beyond awareness-raising and supporting youth workers in designing and implementing practical, youth-led initiatives that respond to current environmental, social, and digital challenges in their local contexts. From the perspective of youth work practice, the project aims to: O1: Strengthen the professional competences of youth workers and youth work multipliers in the field of smart city solutions, sustainability, and youth engagement. O2: Increase the capacity of participating organisations to integrate smart city–related and sustainability topics into their regular youth work activities in a structured and meaningful way. O3: Equip participants with practical tools, methods, and approaches that enable them to actively involve young people in smart, sustainable, and inclusive urban development processes. O4: Foster transnational cooperation and peer learning among youth work professionals from different European contexts, encouraging the exchange of practices and joint learning. O5: Contribute to the long-term development of innovative, future-oriented youth work practices at local, national, and European levels. Through the project, participating youth workers will be empowered to design and deliver more relevant, innovative, and participatory youth activities linked to smart cities and sustainability. This will result in increased and more informed youth engagement in community and urban development processes, as well as stronger organisational capacity within the participating youth organisations. In parallel, the project will strengthen European networks of youth work professionals and support the dissemination and transfer of good practices in the field of smart and sustainable urban youth engagement. The project aligns closely with key European Union priorities, including sustainable urban development, digital transformation, youth participation, and social inclusion. By connecting smart city approaches with youth work practice, the project supports the development of resilient, inclusive, and future-oriented communities shaped with and by young people.
