The project aims to strengthen the quality, inclusion, and emotional depth of youth work practice across Europe by equipping youth workers with creative, reflective, and trauma-aware tools that respond to the real-life challenges faced by young people—especially those with fewer opportunities. Through the training course, youth workers will: • Gain concrete competences in non-formal, art-based methods such as creative writing, photovoice, autobiographical theatre, and Digital Storytelling (DST) • Develop emotional literacy and reflective capacity, using autobiographical and inner child methodologies to build deeper empathy and presence in their work • Learn ethical, inclusive, and trauma-sensitive facilitation techniques to create emotionally safe spaces for youth who struggle with verbal expression, identity, or marginalisation • Increase their digital competence, using DST as a participatory, empowering tool that links self-expression with media literacy • Engage in peer learning and build a European network of youth professionals committed to inclusive and innovative youth work The overall objective is to transform how youth workers engage with emotionally vulnerable or socially excluded young people—moving beyond verbal or behavioural approaches and towards more holistic, creative, and empathetic practices. This directly supports the professionalisation, innovation, and inclusion goals of the Erasmus+ programme and responds to key challenges identified in the EU Youth Strategy, the ETS Competence Model, and the Digital Education Action Plan.
