Sustainable Voices in Youth Media (SVYM) strengthens youth work in media organisations by building the organisational capacities that keep participation possible over time. In this field, youth workers often combine facilitation, mentoring, editorial coordination, and project delivery, but they rarely receive structured support in sustainability planning. The result is a recurring pattern where strong initiatives start well but struggle to continue when capacity or resources drop. SVYM addresses this gap by treating sustainability as part of youth work practice. The project supports practitioners in keeping participation spaces open, inclusive, and reliable, so young people can continuously learn, create, and engage in democratic dialogue through media. The objectives are: 1. Build competences in ethical fundraising and diversified resource planning. 2. Improve strategic positioning so organisations can clearly communicate their purpose and public value. 3. Strengthen medium term planning beyond single project cycles. 4. Co create practical tools for everyday use in planning, coordination, and communication. 5. Reinforce transnational peer learning among youth media organisations facing similar structural challenges. In practice, this means youth workers will make better informed decisions, communicate outcomes more clearly, and sustain high quality non formal learning opportunities for young people in a more consistent way.
