By implementing Stories in Light & Shadow we want to strengthen youth work that supports democratic participation and constructive community dialogue in a media-driven reality. The project will equip youth workers with practical competences to use photography and visual storytelling as creative activism that is inclusive, ethical and safe. We aim to improve youth workers’ ability to design and facilitate participation-focused non-formal learning through photography, strengthen media literacy in youth work (including recognising stereotypes, framing and manipulation), and strengthen facilitation skills for sensitive topics and diverse groups. We will also create reusable workshop formats and a replicable exhibition approach that partner organisations can integrate into regular programmes, and we will build a community of practice that supports peer mentoring and continued cooperation beyond the mobilities.
