The MEP aims to contribute to fulfilling the promise of Article 165 of the EU Treaty regarding youth participation. By engaging with youth-relevant topics, participants actively involve themselves in European politics. In this way, we strengthen the European and democratic awareness of young people in the EU. Youth empowerment paves the way for their engagement and participation in shaping their own future. A process of awareness-raising and skills development also leads to greater decision-making and action capacity. During the project, participants debate topics defined within the framework of the EU Youth Dialogue and the Youth Goals, and the results are intended to feed into European policymaking. Numerous non-formal learning activities make the project a real asset for developing their soft skills. All of this increases the resilience of young people and our societies against current crises, feelings of exclusion, and anti-democratic tendencies.
