With the youth participation project “Between Remembrance and the Future – Youth Shaping Democracy”, we aim to enable young people (14–30) to participate actively, confidently and sustainably in democratic processes. The project creates safe, low‑threshold spaces where democratic competences are strengthened, a sense of community grows, and historical perspectives are linked to current societal challenges. It builds on the young people’s expressed wish for more knowledge and practical skills related to democracy, disinformation, hate speech and anti‑democratic tendencies, as well as for greater exchange and networking. Our objectives are to support young people in taking responsibility, co‑creating their own educational and participation formats, experiencing self‑efficacy, and strengthening sustainable youth structures within the organisation.
