The project “Winter Dialogue Europe 2026” aims to enable 50 young people with fewer opportunities to undertake safe, free of charge and inclusive six‑day rail journeys in two European countries of their choice. From the perspective of youth work practice, we want to strengthen their sense of belonging to Europe and their self‑efficacy in self‑organised mobility, while building key life skills such as language, social, digital and democratic competences. To achieve this, we rely on participatory planning of all travel decisions, non‑formal learning settings along the DiscoverEU learning cycle, culturally sensitive support by qualified accompanying persons, a winter‑specific safety and inclusion logic, and the systematic use of Youthpass. In this way, the young people can shape their trips as autonomously as possible, reflect on their learning and subsequently act as peer multipliers in their communities.
