The "Dialogue Bridges Europe 2026/2027" project aims to enable 50 young people with fewer opportunities to measurably strengthen their sense of belonging to Europe through self-directed, three-day train journeys to a European country. This will allow them to increase their self-efficacy in planning and carrying out mobility activities and develop key skills in language, democratic participation, travel, teamwork, and digitalization. From a youth work perspective, we rely on participatory planning, non-formal learning along a compact DiscoverEU learning cycle, culturally sensitive support, accessibility, and clear safety protocols. Specifically, we aim for at least 80% of participants to report a stronger sense of European belonging after the project ends, at least 75% to feel confident planning another trip independently, at least 80% to be able to identify three concrete learning and democratic situations, and at least 70% to participate in a multiplier activity as alumni within six months. This makes learning outcomes visible, documented in the Youthpass and made available for education, training and engagement.
